What’s on at Rockhampton Cricket Club in 2021

Rockhampton are participating in the ECB cricket pathway National Programme this coming season, through All Stars (5-7 yr olds) and Dynamos Cricket (8-11 yr olds). This is the 3rd consecutive season we will have run All Stars, a fantastic first experience of the game, with fun-based sessions building core skills. The kids get a terrific pack including bag, equipment and personalised t-shirt. It’s the inaugural year for Dynamos, aimed at girls and boys as the next step from All Stars, or those who are older, but new to the game. It is a soft ball game-based programme, starting with fun fielding warm-ups, game-based skill builders, concluding with a game of countdown cricket. The participants also get a personalised t-shirt, a digital App and Topps Attax Cards.

The Programmes launch on Friday 7 May, at 6pm, at the Boundary Field, and run for 8 weeks. Each session will last around an hour. Players can sign up at the ECB website: www.ecb.co.uk/play/all-stars & www.ecb.co.uk/play/dynamoscricket. All young players will be made very welcome.

Rockhampton CC run 4 Saturday league teams, playing teams from all over Gloucestershire.

1st XI compete in WEPL Glos. The Club prides itself on flourishing home-grown talent and the 1st remains littered with players who have represented the Club at youth levels.

2nd XI cricket is a little less intense but still competitive with promotion and relegation to play for. The 2nd is a blend of experience and young players knocking on the 1st XI doors.

The 3rd XI is a healthy blend of youth and experience (or the future and the past of 1st team cricket!). The 3rd continues to develop as a team performing at the peak of the Stroud and District Cricket League.

The 4th XI was reincarnated for the 2017 season after a couple of seasons off. This team is the step up from junior cricket with a few senior stalwarts thrown into the mix.
